We sometimes learn some great music from our brides and grooms. I was a little worried when a bride asked us to play Purcell’s Trumpet Voluntary for her wedding march – after all, she’d hired Ken Bloom and me as a duo from our band Mappamundi to do her wedding, and we were playing guitar and violin – but it turned out just fine. Later Bob and I (the Pratie Heads) started doing it and here’s our version:

I play fiddle, concertina, piano, viola, and sometimes viola with two bands in central North Carolina, near RDU and the Research Triangle (actually closer to Chapel Hill and Hillsborough than Durham, but anyway, central). You can see these two wedding ensembles at our site
